The Anthem Story
It began as most stories do -- in a garage. We were printing shirts for our punk band on a single color press, and quickly realized San Francisco was in need of a more reliable source for screen printing supplies. Passion, motivation and drive led to Anthem's official formation in September 2009.
April 2010 found us our first real home, a tiny store squished between a health food grocer and Japanese whisky bar. It was here we broke down the walls to the world of screen printing by offering pre-burned screens to the public. Without the need for a dark room, anyone could purchase A screen with their artwork ready to print on anything they desired!
By 2012 the people caught on and we were swamped! Our tiny store was filled to the brim, so we packed some boxes and moved in to a much larger retail space in the Outer Richmond. With all this extra room our shelves bloomed and we were able to better assist any printer that walked in, called in, or clickety clicked from across the country.
Fast forward to 2015 and we were again in need of something bigger. Much bigger. This led us to our new warehouse in the neighboring city of South San Francisco. Its wide open spaces and sky high ceilings allowed us to improve efficiency and keep up with increasing demand.
We were kids when we got this going, but now 13 years later and 13 years wiser, this train carries on as it always has; led by a husband and wife, and supported by a modest crew pumped for printing. Wherever you are in your own print journey, we're always here to help, so let's make it happen!
